Board and Patron Application 2024
Being a state Patron for Women in Print requires significant dedication and motivation, as well as a passion for the industry. Any Full Member of Women in Print is eligible to nominate and stand for election for a seat on the Board as a Patron for their state or territory. Patrons who thrive in the role usually have the full support of their company, or employer.
It is a volunteer role with a moral and ethical responsibility to pursue the growth and empowerment for others.
The role comes with enormous reward, both in personal growth, and the large vibrant network of professional women you will come to know, and the professional links you will make at C-Suite level across the industry.
It is as much work as you make it. Patrons are encouraged strongly to recruit like-minded women to form state/territory committees of volunteers, spreading the workload, and making it easier to bring several events per year to their communities.
Patrons duties, responsibilities and actions :
- The state/territory Patron is a Board Officer of the National Board of Women in Print Australia,
- The State Patron hosts and arranges, with their local committees, the in-person events in their state,
- They work with the Board, other committees, volunteers, and other association partners and sponsors to deliver the full calendar of events as well as support the career and education programs of Women in Print
- They chair the state organising committee for their state/territory,
- They represent Women in Print at Industry functions and events,
- Patrons are required to either sit on one sub-committee, or chair a sub-committee, contributing to the many activities and programs of Women in Print Australia in addition to being the main Event organiser for their state,
- They represent the members of Women in Print Australia, and the broader community, supporting the goals, and celebrating the achievements of visual media, packaging and graphic arts industry.
Nomination and Application
You may self-nominate or be nominated by another member. If you are self nominating, this application will be considered your self-nomination. If another member is nominating you, they will need to fill out the first part of the form before you can submit your full application.
You will need the following to complete and submit your application whether you self nominate or are nominated by another colleague:
- A 1 page, succinct CV that prioritises your volunteer, committee or board experience in addition to showing your industry working experience.
- A recent headshot photo, suitable for print at least 3MB or bigger.
- A letter from your employer confirming their awareness of your application and support for same.
